The Seventh annual "Working Toward a Day Without Pain" Gala presented by Column of Hope will be held on October 17, 2009. The event allows us to continue our research efforts with WNY and international researchers to unlock the secrets of spinal cord injuries and disorders. The funds raised will benefit research to lessen the suffering and eventually find a cure for Chiari malformation (CM), syringomyelia (SM), neuropathic pain, spinal cord injury, and related disorders. This cause is important to those suffering from debilitating neuropathic pain, including my daughter Laura, and many of the 250,000 other Americans with CM and/or SM. Spinal cord injuries and other medical problems can also cause severe neuropathic pain.
